• Creating timing accurate software models of multi-core network processing SoCs using C++ and Python. These models are being used for data driven architecture design, thereby de-risking post-silicon performance issues both in hardware and embedded software.• Modeling and performance analysis of key architectural components such as high speed interconnects, high bandwidth and low latency memory subsystems, integrated IO accelerators and CPU .• Performing forward looking exploratory studies with the goal of enhancing the performance of existing architectures and proposing advanced architectures based on data. • Statistical bottleneck analysis of large systems.

Staff Engineer

San Diego, Ca, Us

Multi-mode Home NodeB (Femto-cell) solution • Designed and implemented fixed point demodulation algorithms for LTE uplink on Qualcomm’s proprietary vector processor. Actively involved in hardware/software partitioning, hardware micro-architecture design, prototype firmware implementation, and system simulation.• Designed fixed point receiver front end to support concurrent operation of several 3GPP and 3GPP2 technologies namely LTE, UMTS, TDSCDMA, GSM and CDMA2000. Designed configurable multi-rate digital filters to support variable down-sampling rates, IQ imbalance correction algorithms, DC offset correction algorithms, and droop compensation/equalization algorithms. • Designed and implemented uplink interference cancellation algorithm for UMTS HSUPA channels.Multi-mode mobile chipset solution• Designed and implemented acquisition algorithms for LTE optimized to mitigate correlated interference scenarios which can occur during synchronous network deployments. The algorithms were implemented in Qualcomm's vector processing engine and were a part of Qualcomm's mobile chipset MSM8960.• Designed LTE time and frequency tracking algorithms for MSM8960.OFDMA based peer-to-peer communication technology• Key member of the team which developed an OFDMA based peer-to-peer wireless communication technology called FlashLinQ. FlashLinQ defines a novel air interface which enables mobile devices to detect other devices seamlessly, and communicate without needing conventional network infrastructure.• Using the SystemC library, designed and implemented a bit exact, multi-threaded simulation model for the FlashLinQ ASIC. The simulation model was extensively used for system performance evaluation, RTL verification, co-emulation with the FPGA platforms, and off-target firmware development.

Research Associate

Tempe, Az, Us

• Conducted extensive research on space-time coding techniques for high data rate underwater acoustic communication (UWA) systems. - Designed several low complexity, iterative and adaptive equalizers for UWA channels. - Achieved close to a five-fold increase in the spectral efficiency compared to the existing systems for shallow water, medium range UWA channels, using the designed algorithms. • Participated in a MIMO under-sea experiment along with Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center (SPAWAR), San Diego, off the coast of Elba island, Italy in October 2003. - Demonstrated the feasibility and usefulness of the MIMO technology for underwater acoustic channels for the first time. The proposed algorithms are being considered for real time implementation in high data rate UWA modems.• Designed a Kalman filter based iterative equalizer for space time coded MIMO systems.
