General & Spare Part Purchasing - Process requisitions into approved purchase order for the purpose of updating and distributing information and/or acquiring resources in compliance with established guidelines. - Reviews and authorizes purchase orders within assigned limits for the purpose of facilitating on-site ability to acquire required supplies and/or equipment.- Conducting research to ascertain the best products and suppliers in terms of best value, delivery schedules and quality, identifying potential suppliers, visiting existing suppliers,building and maintaining good relationship with them. - Negotiating and agreeing contracts and monitoring their progress – checking the quality of service provided. - Processing payments and invoices, keeping contracts files and using them as reference for the future, forecasting price trends and their impact on future activities.- Ensuring suppliers are aware of business objectives, training and supervising the work of members, order materials and services as per negotiated and appropriately approved and review quotations.-Track purchasing clerks and salesman in the department, discuss defective or unacceptable new goods or services with user, vendors and others to determine cause of problem and take corrective and preventative action.
