As the General Secretary of the Students' Academic Board (SAB) at IIT Guwahati, I was responsible for addressing the academic concerns and problems of the student community and serving as a link between the students and the administration. I led various initiatives and events, such as Research Conclave, workshops, language courses, and Peer Assisted Learning program to promote academic excellence and innovation. I also helped to provide information about institute policies, internship opportunities, exchange programs, and scholarship schemes. I took an active role in engaging with the student community and disseminating important information through periodic sessions.

As a Teaching Assistant at Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati, I gained extensive experience in mechanical engineering courses over a span of 4 years. I assisted in a range of subjects, including Mechanical Tribology, Mechanical Engineering Laboratory, Engineering Drawing, Robotics and Robot Applications, Engineering Mechanics, Robotic Vision and Control, and Fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence. Through this role, I developed a strong passion for education, teaching and mentorship, and honed my skills in course preparation and delivery, laboratory supervision, and student assessment and evaluation.

As the Overall Student Coordinator of NERC 2022 at IIT Guwahati, I led a team in organizing this prestigious conference, managing over 25 teams and coordinating with dignitaries from academia and industry. Key responsibilities included conducting roadshows, facilitating ministerial-level meetings, and bridging industry-academia relations. These experiences honed my skills in cross-functional leadership, event management, public relations, and public speaking, preparing me for diverse leadership roles in both academic and corporate sectors.

As the student convenor of the Research and Industrial Conclave 2022 at IIT Guwahati, I was part of the organization team that put together the first-ever industrial conclave aimed at enhancing industry-academia collaboration. The conclave, organized by Students’ Academic Board (SAB) in association with IIT Guwahati Research Park and IITG-TIC institutes, was aimed at providing a platform for students, innovators, entrepreneurs, industry experts, professionals, academicians, and investors to exchange innovative ideas, knowledge, and opportunities for research and development. During the conclave, I was responsible for showcasing ongoing research activities by research groups from different educational institutions, facilitating industry-academia interaction, inspiring and encouraging the student community to pursue a career in research, and acting as a platform for startups to showcase their ideas and receive necessary guidance.

Through my training, I learned about various aspects of thermal power plant operations, including coal crushing and grinding, conveyor belt operation, primary air fan operation, ash handling, boiler operation, steam and nozzle operation, turbine operation, deaeration, and cooling towers. With these skills and knowledge, I am well-equipped to pursue a career in industry and power plant operations.
