Underwriting and credit approval of Asset Managers and Family of Funds

Credit Officer

Credit Services Funds Team’s responsibility is to assess credit risk of traditional funds. The team works closely with onshore Funds teams and RMs to prepare and process new fund on-boarding and annual reviews to a consistent standard in accordance to the Bank’s credit, compliance and legal policies. Also investigate credit limit excesses and address credit limit breaches on a daily basis. As a senior member of the team I am also responsible to maintain a collaborative team environment and mediate between team and the senior management on regular business and other impending issues. • Preparing Risk assessment reports and generating Counterparty Risk Rating (CRR) with 100% quality• Credit research for preparing Credit Memo/Credit applications for seeking credit approval for funds trading in products like FX, equities, swaps, etc. • Researching for various fund related information like NAV, fund performance, asset allocation etc. to analyze it from a credit perspective through the help of prospectus, balance sheets, fact sheets from Bloomberg, Reuters, Morningstar and other public sources• Develop a solid understanding of credit issues and ability to handle complex and numerical analysis supported by well researched risk mitigants • Check various internal systems for documentation (ISDA, GMSLA, etc.), limits exposure, etc.Securities Borrowing and Lending (SBL) Project: This is a very high value and critical project for HSBC GBM. As a senior member I am responsible for analysis and on boarding of funds trading in EBL (Equity borrowing and lending).• Liaise with Front and Middle offices along with other support teams to adhere to strict deadlines• Mentor new members to support the SBL project• Provide weekly update to Directors/Onshore senior team members with detailed progress report • Ensure quick turnaround times and exceed expectations of stake holders

The work involves creation, synchronization, standardization and eradication of erroneous data from and of HSBC’s high profile customers for Global Banking and Markets.• Using varied sources, independently researching and preparing corporate structure reports, so as to ascertain correct credit exposure in line with Basel II guidelines for different esteemed Global banking and Markets clients and clients referred to as Master Groups. • Ensuring 100% quality while processing Master Groups and also achieving targets set by the Business area.• Identify data quality issues and flag them accordingly for rectification
