I am a passionate geologist with a deep love for understanding the Earth's intricate tectonic tales. My academic journey has been marked by dedication, and my research experiences have further ignited my curiosity. I'm on a dynamic professional journey as a Development Geologist at Cairn Oil and Gas in Gurugram, Haryana.I am an avid learner, constantly seeking knowledge from books and online resources. In my leisure, I find solace in swimming, indulge in a game of badminton, and immerse myself in the gratifying process of tinkering, fixing broken things, and unraveling their inner workings.📷 Photography is a passion that allows me to exercise my creative muscle. I capture the beauty of nature, the charm of wildlife, and the essence of people, their emotions, and their surroundings. Through the lens, I aim to convey stories and evoke emotions.🔹 Academic Excellence🎓 Master of Science in Geology - IIT Kharagpur ➡️Specializing in hard rock petrology, structural geology, and tectonics. ➡️4th rank in my class with a CGPA of 9.33/10.🎓 Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Geology - Asutosh College, University of Calcutta My academic voyage in the vast sea of Geology commenced at Asutosh College, University of Calcutta.➡️Geology Major and minors in Chemistry and Mathematics.➡️Achieving a Grade A+ with a CGPA of 8.439/10 and securing the 4th position in my university.🏆 Academic Achievements ➡️Secured rank 2 in Joint CSIR-UGC NET, December 2022 - June 2023 in Earth, Atmospheric, Ocean, and Planetary Sciences.➡️Achieved rank 13 in GATE 2024 in Geology and Geophysics.➡️Secured rank 16 in JAM 2021 in Geology.🛢️ Current Role: Development Geologist at Cairn Oil and Gas in Gurugram, Haryana🔍 Research Endeavors➡️Masters Thesis Project - IIT KharagpurThe project focused on the central Shillong-Meghalaya Gneissic Complex's growth history via petrographic, structural, and metamorphic analysis. The goal was to bridge the gap between metamorphic history and deformational events on the eastern margin of Central SMGC. We found a correlation between 4 deformation & 2 metamorphic events. We constructed a P-T path akin to Western margin studies. The investigation concluded a likeness in metamorphic evolution between central SMGC's eastern and western margins. ➡️Summer Intern - Indian Statistical Institute, KolkataA comprehensive comparison between the different Indian dyke swarms based on an extensive literature survey.

Masters Thesis ProjectIndian Institute Of Technology, Kharagpur Aug 2022 - May 2023Project title: Deformation and Metamorphic Evolution of the Central Shillong-Meghalaya Gneissic Complex (SMGC), NE India. Objective: Investigated central SMGC's growth history via petrographic, structural, and metamorphic analysis. Bridged gap between metamorphic history and deformational events on eastern margin of Central SMGC near Guwahati-Shillong NH-6 highway.Study Area: Explored area north of Barapani-Tyrsad Shear zone along Guwahati-Shillong NH-6 highway.Methodology: Conducted fieldwork, microscopic study on metapelites, gneiss, amphibolite, and granites. Determined metamorphism type, constrained peak and retrograde P-T conditions, and outlined potential P-T path. Utilized JMicroVision, EPMA analysis, and geothermobarometric reconstructions (A-X, Perple_X, ThermoCalc, GeoPS).Findings:• Identified correlation of four deformation events with two metamorphic events.• Constructed P-T path akin to western margin studies.• Concluded similarity in metamorphic evolution between central SMGC's eastern and western margins. -
Summer InternIndian Statistical Institute, Kolkata May 2021 - Jun 2021Project title: Magma overpressure estimates from Indian dykes. Objective: A comprehensive comparison of the different Indian dyke swarms based on literature survey. Study Area: Dyke swarms from Bundelkhand, Bastar, Singhbhum, and Dharwar cratons of India.Methodology: Preliminary data set of dyke aspect ratio, dyke trends, dyke and host lithologies along with their rock mechanical properties was made. From the data set parameters like magma overpressure, depth of dyke origin, stress intensity factor, energy release rate, stress at dyke tip were calculated and compared. General dyke swarm trend distributions were plotted and compared using GeoRose for the different dyke swarms of India.
