I developed a design for a new table, utilizing CAD software and traditional drafting methods. My role included producing engineering drawings and BOMs, creating multiple design concepts to align with his artistic vision, and operating 3D printers. By optimizing settings and refining mesh models, I 3D printed high-quality scale models that effectively communicated design features and facilitated quicker decision-making.

I spent two weeks at Cummins Engine Plant in Darlington learning about the company and their operations. As part of the programme I tackled a different department every day. I especially enjoyed shadowing environmental meetings between the company and key stakeholders as well as doing FEA on a piston I designed in CAD. The entire experience was great and I gained real insight into how a large multinational company works.
