Subir is currently leading an elite team to bring to market an artificial intelligence and machine learning powered expert control system for water treatment plants. IntelliFlux, an award winning software platform, could revolutionize operation and maintenance of water treatment plants. IntelliFlux was developed by the systems engineering team of Water Planet under his guidance. Prior to joining IntelliFlux, Subir was the Chief Technology Officer of Water Planet, Inc., a Los Angeles based global water technology and industrial water management company, which he co-founded in 2011. Water Planet specializes in design, engineering, and manufacturing of integrated separation technologies for water treatment. Prior to joining Water Planet, Subir was a Professor in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Alberta, Canada, for 12 years. He held an NSERC Industrial Research Chair in Water Quality Management for Oil Sands Extraction. He was the director of the Oil Sands and Coal Interfacial Engineering Facility, an R&D facility that provided cutting edge analytical services for the oil and energy sector industries, and held a Canada Research Chair for 10 years. He has a Ph.D in Chemical Engineering, with R&D experience in Environmental and Mechanical Engineering. Subir integrates his background of Chemical, Mechanical, and Environmental Engineering to address water treatment and water management challenges employing a systems perspective. He has co-authored a book titled Electrokinetic and Colloid Transport Phenomena, over 90 journal publications, seven book chapters, and contributed to five patents.
