My interest in aluminum began when I was working on my Master's thesis. I am very passionate about this industry - 50 years later, with 20 U.S patents and over 40 published papers, I now consider myself as a veteran in the global aluminum industry. My contribution to the aluminum industry spans across the supply chain, from research of raw material to manufacturing, to recycling. My consultancy and research contract firm Phinix LLC is helping companies across the aluminum world. I am currently serving on the DOE Industrial Technology Innovation Advisory Committee (ITIAC), reporting to the US Secretary of Energy. SPECIALTIES: Development and implementation of new products & processes, starting & growing technology-based companies, linking university research with industrial applications, recycling of consumer & industrial processes, and enhancing sustainability of light metals and rare earth metals. - CEO/Founder of Phinix, LLC, a consulting & research contracting organization working with aluminum industry- Registered Professional Engineer in Kentucky.
