The Khetwaala initiative is a venture (registered as the Khetwaala Social Enterprise LLP) to make 'Clean Food' (food grown/produced and processed without the use of harmful synthetic chemicals and pesticides) , accessible and affordable. Through the initiative we envision to build and develop a 'Community based' Social Enterprise business Model, what we term as a 'Virtual Village' underpinning the foundations of 'real' villages, which are traditionally self-reliant, self-sufficient and self-sustaining ecosystems for most of their Food requirements. As a part of the overall vision, we want to be able to * Make 'Clean Food' a 'necessity' rather than being the 'fad' status it currently has, being a sort of the 'luxurious indulgence' of a few on one hand while being a 'compulsive produce of penury' at the bottom end of the Value Chain on the other.* Involve /Engage more and more people in different roles at the various stages of the 'journey' that the food makes from the farm to our health and create that critical mass that will drive the 'necessity'.* Connect the Urban and the Semi-Urban/Rural dwellers (Small Farmers, Producers, Tribals etc) , helping nurture a sustainable demand-supply platform that will be a win-win for all.* Promote 'micro- entrepreneurship ' to provide meaningful entrepreneurship/ employment to home makers, people wanting to start their entrepreneurial journeys etc.AND we want to be able to build a connected network of such Virtual Villages across different cities in India and elsewhere.

The Government of UK (www.gov.uk), through its Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) will be investing £60 Million over 5 years in India as a part of the £1.3Billion Prosperity Fund to promote the economic reform and development needed for growth in the low- and middle-income partner countries. In India, the Programme covers five thematic areas; energy, urban development, ease of doing business, financial services and; skills and entrepreneurship, with reach across to other priorities including technology. As Head of the Prosperity Portfolio Team, my responsibilities included:* Setting up the Programme Management Office and leading the Prosperity Fund Portfolio Team to oversee the ongoing development of associated programme management processes, including, Financial planning and reporting, Programme Procurement Processes, MREL (Monitoring Results, Evaluation and Learning), Risk Management, Communication Plans and Delivery.* Driving programme excellence through implementing FCO PPM standards and methodologies effectively. Ensuring programme value for money, quality and impact across the Prosperity Fund portfolio, through strong financial management ensuring full spend with impact; sound and innovative M&E; good risk management and mitigation; regular and robust reporting and evaluation of programme activity and impact.* Setting up model of excellent practice for due diligence, compliance with Overseas Development Assistance (ODA) and FCO processes.* Work with strand leads to ensure teams maintain up to date, high quality business cases and log frames that explain the fit with the Prosperity Fund’s strategic aims and flag risks clearly.* Engaging with other internal departments (DFID, DIT) and external stakeholders (GOI, Service Providers) for a synchronized and collaborative delivery, management and reporting of the Programme interventions.

As Head of Office, I along with my team provide Program and Management oversight to all current projects in Uttar Pradesh while also supporting the country program strategies as a member of the Country Management Team with Catholic Relief Services (CRS), India.Our current engagements in Uttar Pradesh include two innovative projects involving use of Mobile Phone based technology to help Community Health Workers (ASHA Workers) and their Supervisors (ASHA Sangini workers) deliver key maternal and new born health services in the community effectively and thus leading to improved maternal and child health outcomes. We are engaged with the CORE Group Polio Program(CGPP) aimed at supporting the Government Immunisation programs focused on eradication of Polio as a disease from India.In the short duration of time over the 9 months, we have successfully been able to transition our Mobile phone based ICT intervention with ASHA Sanginis (ASHA Facilitators) to being scaled up by the Government of Uttar Pradesh across 5 additional districts. In the scaled up program we will be working with about 520 ASHA Facilitators who reach out to a population of approximately 17.7 Million and about 490,000 pregnant women and children up to the age of 2 years. The budget for the scale up has been approved by both the state and national government in the Health PIP for Financial Year 2017-2018. The intervention was also recently selected and showcased at the 4th National Summit on Good, Replicable Practice and Innovations in Public Healthcare Systems in India held in July 2017 at Indore, India by the National Health Mission, Government of Uttar Pradesh. This was made possible through strong Quality Programming and Advocacy engagements at both the state and the national level and demonstrates how a pioneering m-Health intervention can be replicated, is scale-able and sustainable.

CARE is a leading Not-for Profit sector organization with wide International presence. The Bihar Technical Support Program(BTSP), funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) is focusing through a Memorandum of Understanding for providing Technical Assistance to the Health and Social Welfare departments, the program is providing catalytic support to the Government of Bihar (GoB) in achieving its Millennium Development Goals on key health outcomes of: Reducing Maternal, Infant and Child Mortalities; Improving Maternal and Child Nutrition coverages; Improving Immunization coverages and reducing Total Fertility Rates (TFR) through extensive Family Planning interventions. Additionally, the program is supporting the GoB in its endeavour to eliminate the Kala Azar as a disease from the state. Overall strengthening of the systems involving Infrastructure, Supply Chain Management, Human Resource Management, Budgeting and Planning form the other core areas of focus for the Program. CARE is leading this effort in its role as a lead partner in the program for the BMGF. This has been the most challenging assignment over the 18 years of my career. In my role as the Director, Program Performance Support, I own and lead the overall responsibility and accountability for implementation of all the key program interventions, strategies and work streams with a 1200 member team comprising of highly motivated and experienced doctors, paramedics, social development and management professionals. The Team and I engage and work with the approximately 200,000 front-line health workers, 3000 doctors and other stakeholders of the Health, Social Welfare and Administrative functions of the Government of Bihar (GoB) across the 9 divisions, 38 districts and 534 blocks of the state.The efforts are directed towards developing improved and organic capabilities within the GoB's systems for effective delivery of quality of services across the spectrum of Maternal and Child Health.

The region under my Operational Leadership had been able to register a year on year double digit growth on transaction volume and revenue while carrying out business in an optimised, productive and cost effective manner.
