Subutai is responsible for Numenta's research program. Numenta’s has a broad, long-term research agenda. 1) We want to advance our understanding of the neocortex and cortical principles, and 2) build machine intelligence and machine learning systems based on those principles.

Subutai was responsible for managing Numenta's software and technology development, as well as its algorithm research.

Was responsible for all software application and technology development at YesVideo. Started from the ground up when we were just 3 people. When I left we had over 100 people and multiple profitable international business lines. Recently YesVideo was named one of Forbes top 100 most promising companies (see link below).

ePlanet, a spin-off from Interval Research, created technology and immersive games for kids using real time computer vision. We released the first consumer product based on real time vision, the IntelPlay Me2Cam. The technology I created was based on background subtraction, motion estimation, and real time people tracking using a webcam connected to a standard PC. The first of its kind, the product won the Bologna 2000 New Media Prize for the Most Innovative Children's Software Product in February 2000: "it is one of the few software products out there which get children up off their seats and using their muscles".

Conducted fundamental research in Machine Learning, Neural Networks/Deep Learning, Computer Vision and Image Processing. Published several papers in NIPS, ML Journal, and others. Member of Program Committee, NIPS (now NeurIPS).

Guest scientist at Siemens Central Research in Munich, Germany. Work on real time hand tracking from video and Bayesian learning.
