In an aspirational pursuit to live, explore, establish, and experience life in a new country, my young family and I moved from Bengaluru, India, to Sydney, Australia, in early 2017 on a PR visa. I spent the first few weeks and months professionally networking and assessing schooling feasibility for my daughter and life in the new home for my lovely wife. My daughter and wife moved to Sydney once I could find a suitable home and preferred suburb for my daughter to grow well in a multi-cultural and diverse locality.Having my family settle well helped me focus on my professional growth, pursue market-leading roles, tap into an Associate Director role with the PMI Sydney chapter, and crack my first job in Australia, which aligned with my potential. My responsibilities as 'Student Library Assistant' at Kent College of Law and Stuart School of Business involved:1. Responsible for check-out and check-in of books. 2. Managed the front desk of a 5 floors and over 10 million books library.3. Data entry and digitalisation of entire US patent books.4. Responsible to assist, guide and explain the location and library organisation to students.5. Support the Library Manager with ad-hoc reporting and updates.6. Shelving the returned books into its right location and chronological order.7. During non-busy time, helped in organising and arranging all books across each section of the entire library in chronological order. This helped to ensure the books are locateable, referred and borrowed by the students effectively.8. Was responsible for closure procedures and security support with the campus police at the end of the day for few days.

As a part-time staff I was responsible for supporting the front line staff during peak business hours at the Jefferson street Subway in Chicago, IL, USA. My responsibilities involved taking precise orders and preparing the entire sub customised for each customer across every stage. In rare scenarios I have handled the cash register too. Additionally, I have cut vegetables, stocked each serving boxes, made various breads, and stocked them all for the busy lunch hour. I was responsible for cleaning the floor, table, toilets, kitchen floor and serving sections post the lunch hour. The money earned helped me manage my living expenses, learn about customer services, selling skills, meaningful order taking skills, build rapport in very short time, and ensure a satisfying customer in less than 2-5 min. It helped me improve my reaction time, memory skill (all possible options and orders, sometimes names of our friendly customers), people skills, accountability skills and ensure trusting relationship.
