As a Transplant Coordinator I make sure there is continuity of care for recipients during evaluation, during their stay at the hospital and discharge phase. Coordinating organ transplant activities by communicating to all staff involved in transplant programme activities. As a Transplant Coordinator i’m involved pre operatively in evaluating the financial status of the family and assisting in getting financial assistance for the surgery through various NGO. Consulting with the treating physician to schedule the time for the Apnea test. I ensure counseling for organ / tissue donation from relatives. As a Transplant Coordinator I am in contact with the State Level Government Transplant Authority member secretary, documenting the official referral for organ donation on behalf of the recipient. I also Coordinate for donor family counselling,donor approval form, police verification and approval, donor retrieval timing , travel permissions , organ transport permissions and legal formalities with the donor family and hospital.
