Scientist IBe BiopharmaLittleton, Ma, Us -
Senior Associate ScientistBe Biopharma Sep 2022 - PresentCambridge, Massachusetts, Us- IV dosing, tail bleeding, necropsy of mice.- IVIS imaging of mice.- Oversee the vivarium and organize our mouse colony.- Established sample labeling and organization to ensure easy transfer of samples to analytics team.- Work with Benchling studies and workflow programs. -
Principal Research AssociateVedanta Biosciences, Inc. Nov 2019 - Aug 2022Cambridge, Ma, Us Perform oral gavage and necropsies on mice. Culture and count bacteria colonies such as vancomycin resistant enterococci, carbapenem-resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae, and extended spectrum beta-lactamase producing E. coli. Safely work with MDROs (multi drug resistant organisms) to reduce any cross contamination. Effectively execute DNA extraction using the Qiagen Power Feal Pro DNA kits. Run samples on the Nanodrop to ensure the quality of extracted DNA. Increase efficiency on running in vivo studies. Increased the number of mice per study as well as helped design a co-colonized model which allowed us to test two MDRO bacteria at the same time the same mice. Ultimately cutting the number of mice in half as well as reducing the time to acquire the necessary data. Pour media plates with and without various antibiotics. Graph and organize all the data that I gathered and present it to the group on a weekly basis. -
Research AssociateZikani Therapeutics Sep 2018 - Jul 2019 Perform SC, IV, IM and PO injections in mice and rats. Collect blood and tissues in accordance with protocols. Culture and count bacterial colonies. Run PK/PD and infection model studies.
-
Research Support At Vertex PharmaceuticalsCharles River Laboratories Jan 2012 - Feb 2017Wilmington, Massachusetts, Us Use standard operating procedures and protocols to perform IP, IV, SC, and IM injections on mice and rats. Increase efficiency for study takedowns by streamlining processes. Effectively and efficiently perform a broad range of responsibilities, including: collecting blood and tissue samples, implanting and measuring tumors, scoring disease progression in irritable bowel and EAE diseases, scanning histology slides, conducting pharmacokinetic studies, and preparing plate and count bacteria samples. Ordering all supplies for the vivarium on a weekly basis using the iProcurement system. Train staff on dosing techniques. -
Temporary Research Associate, ToxicologyAlnylam Pharmaceuticals Nov 2008 - Feb 2009Cambridge, Massachusetts, Us Used proficiency in rat tail vein cannulation to complete tasks; conducted infusion dosing of rats over extended periods of time. Graphed and organized collected data, and reviewed final reports to ensure quality and accuracy. Created PowerPoint presentations on data. Researched drug formulation. -
Temporary Research TechnologistEisai Us Mar 2008 - Nov 2008Nutley, Nj, Us Used proficiency in mice IV tail injections, subcutaneous injections, interperitoneal injections, oral gavage of both mice and rats, rodent restraint and blood collection. Performed cardiac puncture and tissue collection of mice. Organized and maintained animal procedure rooms in compliance with policies, procedures and regulations. -
Research Animal Technician IiDavinci Biomedical Research Products, Inc. Feb 2006 - Sep 2007Worcester, Massachusetts, Us Proficient in restraint, drug administration, IV catheter placement, endotracheal intubation, anesthesia in non-human primates, sheep, goats, pigs, dogs, and rabbits. Skilled in rodent restraint and handling, as well as blood collection, oral gavage, SC injection, and anesthesia. Assisted in various surgeries including canine bladder replacement, sheep cardiac device implantation, primate telemetry placement and rodent myocardial infarction models. Lead technician on the pilot and GLP study for canine bladder replacement including 40 dogs. Performed data, blood, and urine sample collections. Designed and organized forms for data collection. Proficient at urinary catheter placement in both male and female dogs. Created a schedule to ensure all follow-up procedures were performed on time according to the protocol. Lead technician on a rabbit device study consisting of 130 rabbits. Maintained all records for device implant, maintenance and removal. Performed daily checks on devices to ensure proper placement was maintained. Euthanized rabbits at the end of the study for necropsy. Lead technician on a rodent stomach implant study, which included 30 rats. Designed methods to increase efficiency on the daily weighing of food intake. Weighed rats daily and performed fluoroscopy weekly. Maintained all records and animal care in a manner compliant with GLP standards. Organized the surgical suites to improve efficiency during surgery. Experience in animal necropsy and minor surgical procedures.
