Mine included! My first feature documentary, I Am Belmaya, was released in 2021, co-directed by Belmaya herself. It’s about a bold and brave young woman in Nepal to whom I taught photography when she was aged 14, in 2006. The film follows her transformational journey as she learns to make documentary films herself, taking the camera and power into her own hands and standing up to the patriarchy.In journalism, my focus is often on women and social justice/human rights issues. I've written on these and travel and lifestyle for many national publications - YOU Magazine, Daily Telegraph, The Times, The Guardian, Observer, BA Highlife, Conde Nast Traveller.I've been a founder trustee of 3 charities.- Current trustee, GlobalGirl Media UK - empowering young women with digital media skills, so they can tell stories from their perspective and change the male-dominated narrative. Trainer on GGMUK courses- Founder trustee of Asha Nepal to help exploited women and girls in Nepal.
