I started my career as a news reporter in Greater Manchester covering anything and everything from crown court cases to council meetings to stories of local characters (the experiences of Ricky Gervais' character in 'Afterlife' are remarkably true to life!) I have editing experience but have always had a passion for writing and helping people tell their stories.Next year will mark my 10th year in legal PR, having worked in-house for a large law firm and now for a specialist agency. I love the buzz of identifying and shaping a great story that will help get clients noticed where they want to be, whether that's in the national, regional or industry media. I think it's also important to shine a light on the valuable work being done by the legal profession, particularly the civil side, which often comes in for unfair criticism in the mainstream press.
