She has worked in both the public and the private sector, with Further and Higher Education Institutes, professional, government and NGO agencies, alternative learning providers, B2B publishing, the MOD, European Commission, NATO, the UN, The US Department of Homeland Security, the Home Office, commercial companies, product/R and D groups, academic researchers, PR agencies, OfSTED.Sue has significant HE Student Services experience managing teams and developing stakeholder relationships at all levels across institutions with ease and empathy. With a clear understanding of strategic business objectives and an agile responsiveness to change, she develops and delivers initiatives to improve outcomes and raise service standards. She is expert at harmonisation, seeing the potential for more effective practice, building teams from silos and departments to work together to deliver institutional goals. Alongside her honed organisational/operational skills and track record of delivering change in a higher education environment, she brings a breadth of experience in internal/external communications, PR, reputational management and media relations. Sue is passionate about widening participation and engagement, transforming lives through education and the arts, and has a special interest in creative writing. She is a founding member of the poetry co-operative, The Hornet Press Poetry Collective, a freelance Arts Programmer and a published writer.She has a BA in English Literature, a Postgraduate Certificate in Education and an MA (Distinction) in Creative Writing.
