Our U.S. service members are now facing an even greater challenge reintegrating back into society after multiple deployments. Many of these brave men and women are returning to civilian life with physical injuries and are also suffering with the hidden wounds of war, such as post traumatic stress, traumatic brain injuries and depression. At the current pace, 23 service members commit suicide each day.Operation Blue Pride’s mission is to welcome these veterans into the scuba diving community. Scuba training has proven to be a very effective self-healing and empowerment tool helping veterans regain their independence and sense of purpose. OBP’s scuba trained veterans remain actively involved in OBP.
