I managed World Vision UK's strategic objective in its DFID PPA to include disabled people in poverty reduction work. I commissioned, supported, monitored and evaluated disability mainstreaming work in countries in Africa, Asia and Eastern Europe. I also produced and shared resources for use by World Vision and the broader international development community.Social model disability mainstreaming is barely practiced in international development work - though the recent UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities is enabling this important and neglected area of development to rise up the donor and INGO agenda.
