In 2002, Sue founded Alliance Health Services Group to solve the problem of nursing staff shortages in Australia and built Alliance Nursing to be the premier nursing recruitment agency in NSW. Sue expanded the business in 2006 to include the provision of direct care services within the aged and disability community sectors, to meet community demand for quality service providers.The New South Wales Business Chamber acquired Alliance in 2014, after a competitive sale process and was retained as Chief Operating Officer to assist in its integration and growth.Over the next eight years, Sue took primary responsibility for the integration and operations of existing and new businesses, in the healthcare, disability, community aged care, labour hire and group training sectors, reporting to the Chief Executive. As Chief Operating Officer, Sue evolved and matured the corporate office function, introduced and implemented the clinical governance program and successfully integrated acquisitions (Alliance and 2 other businesses – each accretive). Sue oversaw revenue growth of 116% (2015-2023) , despite many challenges, including COVID-19, industry compliance and regulatory reforms, and labour shortages.Sue is known for her authentic and collaborative leadership style, a deep understanding of the marketplace and the ability to build enduring relationships. Relationships that led to new business opportunities and industry recognition for the enterpriseSue demonstrates a strategic and visionary approach to building opportunities and leading organisations. As a talent builder and people motivator, she has created many high-performing teams that support business growth. Through her coaching and mentorship, her teams are fit for purpose, agile and adaptive to change. Many staff and peers have worked for her for over 10 years. Sue supports and encourages her peers and teams in their professional development journey. Sue is diligent, hardworking and passionate about the sector.Sue is currently the Chair (Non-Executive Director) of the Australian Community Industry Alliance, a member industry peak body, advocating quality care and representing the interest of service providers within the disability and compensable insurance industry sector.Sue is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and holds a Masters of Public Health and Bachelor of Nursing. She has completed several leadership courses, including executive leadership coaching, persuasion and influence courses.
