I have spent the past 2.5 years working with Sue at ClearDATA across a number of fronts. As the Director of Risk & Compliance, I was often at her door with questions on how we are following regulatory requirements. In other cases, I was at her door asking about DEI or Employee Engagement initiatives. There is even a time at her desk where I was cleaning up dog poop (not from her or my dog) – but that is a story for another time. For those who working in technology, pet-friendly environments are a double-edged sword. 😊 Through each of those times, I found myself – either in the moment, or after the fact – marveling at the depth and balance of Sue’s perspective, willingness to support, and guidance on the matter at hand. She possesses a significant number of traits that make her a true value for an organization. From an HR leader perspective, Sue works tirelessly to support others and their initiatives. She genuinely cares about people, which both critical and rare in my experience with HR leaders. One thing I genuinely appreciated about Sue in our interactions was her consistent approach towards the person first perspective. Understanding the situation, and then applying the rules accordingly. This is so critical to what we do as leaders. Tempering requirements with the reality of people’s lives and unique circumstances. On a DEI note, I have found Sue to be a great champion for equality and inclusiveness. She consistently demonstrated unwavering support and guidance as our DEI Champion at ClearDATA. She took a humble approach of learning and teaching along the way. This is part of her character and her personality. Any organization fortunate enough to have Sue on their team is in good hands on a number of fronts. She will not only support the culture you have built, but help to make the culture better.
