About Sue Daugherty

My career and interest in gerontology were born out of my experience working as a nursing assistant the summer following my freshman year at Ohio University. I knew from that experience that there had to be a better way to care for older adults. After graduation I earned my Nursing Home Administrator's license and went on to practice nursing home administration in Milan and Sandusky and operate a small adult day service in Norwalk, Ohio.As the Founding Executive Director of Serving Our Seniors, I have been extremely fortunate to have strong community and political support for our efforts to establish Erie County Ohio as a compassionate and caring community for older adults to maintain their independence.
