Transitioned to a slightly different role in the same division. No longer focusing on contracts administration, I spend my time juggling office manager duties (facilities & maintenance interface, space planning, crisis management & safety representation), general care and feeding of staff (onboarding, offboarding, asset procurement and systems access), and functional leadership of support staff and interns. I work closely with Finance on overhead spending and procurement needs, and with HR on staff planning and communication. I also spearhead many team building and appreciation events.

Spirited away by my beloved Disneyland Entertainment Boss, I joined Disney Creative Entertainment when we were just 10 people and it felt like a lil' start-up company inside a REALLY big one. I started as an exec admin, then became a coordinator and then a Manager. In my current role(s), I switch between being a contract administrator, a finance wrangler of P.O.s and invoices and an office manager. We've got a full-time staff of 30 now and I can't even count the number of consultant contracts I'm currently juggling. OK, I could, but I don't want to...too depressing! It's busy and crazy here but I love it. We develop and produce all of the live show product that is presented around the world in all of our theme parks and on our ships. I could go on an on about what that specifically covers, but YOU don't want me to!

I started as a temp in the Spring of 1989 with an eye towards ANYTHING and it took a full year to get a full-time job offer (which is not unusual if you know how tough it is to get into Disney). I worked most of my Eleven years at Disneyland as a Secretary for Entertainment Operations, where all the live show performers are statused, as well as the staff who run all the shows (Characters, Parades, Fireworks as well as the Stage Shows and all of the Atmosphere Entertainment). I was frequently borrowed by the Marketing Division to support events, working as a media host. My final year at Disneyland was spent as a Marketing Coordinator, working on the grand opening of Disney's California Adventure, which opened on Feb 8, 2001.

I moved from Oregon after college graduation and took a new job with Southland Corp. Technically I transferred as I used to be a 7-Eleven clerk in Eugene before I went back to school, and restarted with them when I did some special projects during the summer after graduating. I started in a regional/district office as a courier/merchandiser and in my management career path, became a Corp Store Manager (there are very few in SoCal that are not Franchisee operated). I didn't last much longer than a year before the lure of Disney pulled me away.
