Trained up and used Sage Line 50 for inputting Bac's and cheque payments & purchase ledger. Dealt with a variety of payroll tasks, and produced a weekly profit report. Also chased payments from clients and filled in CCJ forms when appropriate. Plus various other office duties, and had resposibility for two other staff members.

Did a temporary contract in the stability department testing aerosols for asthmatics. Employed via Scientific Recruitment Company SRG. Had previously worked in the Analytical Chemistry laboratory then in Quality Assurance at Fisons which became RPR and then Sanofi Aventis.

I worked in the factory ensuring that documents from specific production areas were checked and that the product leaving those areas was of the required standard, in terms of area suitability at the time of production and staff compliance to Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP). I also had to identify and investigate non-conformance incidents, agree actions and ensure their implementation. I had to learn new skills to take on this role, the courses I took included Proofmatics, Numerical Skills, Clean Room Techniques and GMP. I also did computer training courses in Word and MS office, plus video training on Total Quality Management, Statistical Process Control and Assertiveness.

I worked in various product teams within the Quality Control Laboratory and tested the majority of products manufactured on site. Products tested varied from aerosols for asthmatics to eye ointments. I was the laboratory safety representative for two years, dealing with minor incidents, checking safety equipment and ensuring GLP and COSHH regulations for were adhered to. I also was given the role of dealing with complaints, supplying any technical data required for the response to the customer. As I became more senior in the teams I was also involved with training new staff. I used HPLC, GLC, TLC, Infra Red Spectroscopy, UV spectroscopy, Karl Fischer, Coulter Counter, Atomic Absorption and various laboratory techniques to analyse the different products and their constituents.
