I am a poet and writer. My work has been published in many English and Welsh anthologies and magazines including Coffee House, Poetry in the Waiting Room, Roundyhouse and Vintage Script. With my husband,David McCormack, I run creative writing workshops in schools, colleges and community settings.I have had many years’ experience of teaching creative writing to students of all ages,abilities and backgrounds. I teach at Hereward College of Further Education and at Loughborough University and I am a co director of Crystal Clear Creators, a not for profit organisation which supports new writing - www.crystalclearcreators.org.uk. January 2011 - Behind the Scenes at The Atkins Building, Hinckley. Participants' work was published in Absence of Ghostly Corners, Leicestershire County Council/Open Museum.Other workshops have included:Reflections on the Kindertransport, Holocaust Memorial Day, Charnwood Museum. The children's work was displayed in the museum Slavery - Past and Present, with Somalian students at Leicester College. The students produced a radio documentary which was broadcast on Radio Somalia, a station for the Somalian community in Leicester. Workshops and poetry performances focusing on personal history and local history.
