Procurement lead working closely with ICT to tender and contract a range of new and existing software systems.

Responsible for supporting the team and managing the procurement process to improve and maintain capital infrastructure assets.

Temporary contract role (initially four months but extended twice thereafter) to plan, source and expedite the purchase of raw materials to serve production schedules, ensuring availability whilst minimising stock-holding and maximising working capital. Key responsibilities include: ensuring procurement master data is accurate and kept up to date, recommending replacements for obsolete materials, managing supplier relationships that are often monopolistic in nature, and providing support to the supply chain function.

Full end-to-end category management for a variety of indirect categories, including spend analysis, strategy development, tendering projects and reducing leakage by driving contract compliance.

Responsible for direct and indirect supply requirements, and management of the Assistant Buyer. Direct spend consisted of a wide range of electronic components, printed circuit boards and custom produced metalwork with majority of instruments containing 1,000s of components. Use of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system to raise purchase orders against production schedules, using just-in-time deliveries to reduce inventory requirements.

Monitoring prices for raw materials, raising purchase orders for production requirements, and liasing with customers and production to expedite orders.

Raising purchase orders for active contracts, co-ordinating deliveries, and scheduling of installation engineers. Resolving after-sales problems and co-ordinating warranty services.
