Since 2012 Sue has run skills-based visual art workshops in a variety of settings for primary, secondary and tertiary students. These have included; Fashion Illustration, Portrait Drawing and Comics and Characters at the Art Gallery of South Australia. Watercolour Techniques at Burnside Painters studio and Artist, Nona Burden's studios. Creative Mark Making and Collage As Play at Brick and Mortar Creative Hub. Making Monsters at the Women's and Children's Hospital. Sue also runs workshops in her role as an educator of pre-service teachers at the University of South Australia.

Artist Statement ‘My Art flows from a place in the mind where memories and experiences are stored. Through abstraction I draw upon them as a means of expressing how I feel in my physical environment with a focus on space, depth and colour. I work intuitively. Abandonment and experimentation underpin my creative processes. I ‘find’ the painting as I go. I have been working primarily with watercolour throughout my professional career, drawn to the risky, unpredictable openness of it as a medium. Through it I am best able to express my emotional responses to landscape.In late January 2020 I undertook a two month NES International residency in the remote coastal township of Skagaströnd, Iceland. Through my residency project I engaged in spontaneous, experimental studio work in response to immersive, external experiences during the limited winter daylight, so as to disrupt my usual methods and processes. My residency experience was unfortunately cut short due to increasing dangers associated with Covid-19 in Europe, but I have continued with the experimental work I undertook, since returning to Australia in March.
