(she/her)I am proud and honoured to be Chief Executive of Badminton England. The recognised National Governing Body for Badminton in England, which covers increasing participation, delivering major events (including Yonex All England Championships) and developing the top performance athletes to compete in Olympic / Paralympic Games and other international competitions I work hard to develop and deliver the sport, working closely with the board, the staff team and the many volunteers across our sport.I am passionate about delivering the impact and many benefits that sport has for improving lives, and i feel privileged to work in sport everyday. I have always loved the social interaction, the friendships and the team spirit that sport brings.Previously Chief Executive of Volleyball England, where I covered the 3 disciplines of Volleyball, Sitting Volleyball and Beach Volleyball, and worked collaboratively to deliver huge improvements across the sport.Prior to that I was an Inspector for the Sport Grounds Safety Authority, who as authors of the ‘Green Guide’, are unique as the world’s only government funded body set up specifically to develop safety at sports grounds. I was a great ambassador for the development of safety management who has delivered locally, nationally & internationally. I worked collaboratively with all agencies involved in safety at sports grounds and major sports events.Specialties - I have particularly strong ability to form positive & sustainable relationships. Achievements- Delivery and multi-agency planning, training and exercising for emergency planning in Nottinghamshire- Chair of Safety Advisory Group for Nottinghamshire and issuing Safety Certificates for Nottingham Forest Football Ground, Mansfield Town Football Ground and Trent Bridge Cricket Ground.- Undertook various major incident roles at times of flooding and other incidents in Nottinghamshire, including managing the Emergency Control Centre, managing a rest centre (evacuation centre) forward incident control officer, LA representative at Gold Control and other roles.Toughest challengeOne of the flooding incidents I attended. This one was in 2004, at 3.00am in the morning I arrived at a flooded village and was met with chaos and lots of very unhappy home owners. I was able to assess the situation, direct the Fire Service to pump out the most at risk properties and secured sandbags to support residents. The residents were so grateful for the support and the media loved the positive stories of that night.
