I have had the pleasure and honor of working in a private school, charter schools and public schools over the course of my many years in education. There are differences but there are many similarities. One thing I have found is that students need to be cared for, loved, and challenged to be the best they can be. Parents send their best students to us every day and want the best for them. Teachers need to be supported and cared for as they support student learning. Communities need for our schools to be safe havens to shape the future of our cities and towns.I currently serve as the principal of a large, diverse public high school in Northeast Philadelphia. I am constantly inspired and motivated by the students and staff with which I work. No school is perfect, but neither is the world in which we live. We are a community school and do our best to provide students and families resources.
