Career Development, Training And Transition SpecialistCranbourne Secondary College 1978 - 1987As the school Career Counsellor, Sue was responsible for the development and implementation of effective programmes for years 7 - 12. A rapidly developing school in the outer suburbs of Melbourne had a varied student population, some with high educational aspirations, and some looking to leave school at the earliest opportunity. All students were encouraged to research their options as thoroughly as possible, and to have a back up plan to cover various scenarios. Sue organized the Work Experience programme for the entire year 10 cohort of approx 200 students including placements, insurance, and all administrative functions. Innovative career education programmes were established and delivered, and parents were encouraged to participate where practicable. Sue's inclusive approach and understanding of the challenges experienced by her students was applauded by staff, students and parents alike.
