Developing her career 20years ago as a Graphic Designer, on the Sunshine Coast, Sue worked as a Creative Director on projects for Tourism Queensland and Fraser Coast Tourism, before making the move into print media.Joining newspaper publisher APN News & Media in 1999, Sue enjoyed a 5yr country Qld sabbatical, first at the Chinchilla News, then as General Manager of the Western Star in Roma, before returning to the company’s flagship, the Sunshine Coast Newspaper Company, where she worked as Advertising Manager for 3yrs, across their stable of products, including the Sunshine Coast Daily, Revive Magazine, and community titles (incl. Noosa News). After working with Prime Radio as the General Manager of the coast’s newest radio station Zinc 96.1, for three years, she has returned to her real love – Newspapers - recently heading up Quest Newspapers’ Community titles on the Sunshine Coast.In April this year after a change of CEO and a strategic decision by NewsLtd to pull out of the Sunshine Coast, and she accepted a key executive role with News Limited in North Queensland.Among other community and business commitments, Sue has formerly Chaired the Sunshine Coast Business Women’s Network Board, sat as Director on Noosa’s Economic Sector Board, was Commodore and Chair of the Noosa Yacht and Rowing Club Board, a director of Tourism Noosa, the Sunshine Coast Combined Chambers of Commerce Committee, as well as the Sunshine Coast Community Foundation and Cindy Mackenzie Breast Cancer Foundation.Today, after an offer from News Ltd to rejoin them as General Manager of North Queensland Newspapers, Sue resides in Townsville with her husband and the youngest of their two children, Olivia (13). Today she serves on the External Advisory Boards to James Cook University Faculty of Business, and Townsville Enterprise Ltd,is a Director on the Townsville Fire Board (WNBL), ACT for Kids building committee, and is an ambassador for Cancer Council’s Relay for Life in Townsville.
