My final course at SNHU was a capstone project designed to bring together components of each of the courses I learned from throughout my degree program. Throughout this project I learned five new software programs, created mind maps, project timelines with deliverables and a budget, a SWOT Analysis, a Situational Analysis, and a multimedia presentation. We critiqued the work of fellow students so we could all improve the quality of our final deliverable, but each of us worked alone. It was an exciting, challenging, and incredibly rewarding experience. I am proud that I received a perfect score on my work. In COM566, we learned the importance of understanding audiences, platforms, contexts, structures, applications, messages, cultures, and societies, when crafting effective communications. There is no "one sizes fits all" when creating messages that are effective for each targeted audience and each platform they use. When I began COM530 Law & Ethics, A Line in The Sand, our professor, Richard Vogel, explained we would be learning that actions can be legal but unethical and unethical but legal. I had never studied either legal or ethical implications and was fascinated by how my eyes were opened both by the importance of each and the potential impact their abuse can have. As our world expands through our digital abilities, it is important for our thoughts and actions, especially our communications, to consider their global implications.

I have just completed my Master’s program and I am very excited about graduating! When I began my studies, I was not working toward maintaining a grade point average; my primary goal was to immerse myself in each course and learn as much as I could. The by-product of that turned out to be both a tremendously exciting set of both updated and new skills, as well as a 4.0 GPA throughout my entire degree program. I decided to return to graduate school to build on my existing skill sets and strengthen my communications, marketing and social media skills. I worked with Vocera Communications sales and marketing team to review, redesign and recreate the Sales Tool Kit used by their sales and sales support teams. This included identifying what was needed by each component of the team, interviewing the people responsible for the data and designing and developing a new tool kit that will be a valuable asset for the sales team.

I served on the Board of Directors for what was then named Mother of God, House of Prayer. I focused on their marketing, social media, and technology initiatives.
