At the Fayetteville Library, I oversaw all facets of daily operations including finance, HR, programming, and facilities management. I spearheaded a strategic marketing campaign to build public enthusiasm for our library expansion, and secured over $3.6M through grants, corporate, and foundation contributions. I raised capital, negotiated contracts, and served as the project manager for multiple expansion and renovation projects, and investigated and incorporated emerging technologies into the plan of service to provide cutting edge opportunities for staff and community members. I developed and launched a range of programs which included STEAM summer camps and early literacy education, and served as ex-officio member on Board of Trustees.A few of my key accomplishments in this position were:• Establishing the first public library makerspace in the world, which offered the community access to facilities and industry interaction for product and service development.• Overseeing the $3M relocation and expansion of our 96-year-old library.• Facilitating unparalleled growth through the establishment of a long-term predictable funding plan.• Creating an innovative organizational structure, which encouraged an environment of collaboration and engagement for staff members at all levels, and aided in the identification of future leaders and allowing opportunities for their growth.
