I was born in Simpson County, Kentucky where my family lines extend back to the early 1800s in Kentucky or Tennessee. I became interested in researching my family history when a co-worker brought an original Kentucky: A History of the State, published in 1886, to the office one day. I began looking through it and found a sketch in the Simpson County section about my G-G-Grandparents. “I was so excited and my life has not been the same since.” I knew I had to learn more about my family history, a hobby my Mother had been wanting to pursue. Immediately, I became involved with the local historical society and served as President for five years. During my leadership, the Society restored the old county jail and jailer’s residence. This facility became the County Archives and Museum, where I served as Director for more than ten years. All of the old records, which survived the 1882 courthouse fire, were brought from the attic of the courthouse for preservation in the Archives. I enjoyed working daily with the patrons to uncover their family history. With a move to Tennessee, I expanded my research opportunity and began sharing my genealogical skills on a professional basis. Twenty years have passed and I continue conducting genealogical research. Presently, I am researching family lines for several clients with roots in KY, TN, NC, SC, AR, OK, CT, NY, etc. My clients includes/have included people from CA, IL, KY, LA, NE, NJ, NC, TN, TX, UT and many other states as well as Canada and Australia I am also available to do lineage research and missing heir research.I have taught a Beginning Genealogy Class at the Belmont Manor Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Nashville and presently teaching a genealogy class the Murfreesboro Senior Center in Murfreesboro.
