Co-FounderMatic Jan 2019 - PresentColorado, United StatesI teamed up with a couple of talented friends to see if we could create some useful consumer software. Our first attempt is Packaroo, a packing list app for the iPhone that serves up recommendations for what to bring on your travels based on the destination. We're doing our best to make this app useful, usable, and sometimes shockingly clever.

FounderWishful Thinking Apr 2010 - Jul 2019We founded Wishful Thinking LLC to learn how to create and sell consumer-based products online. Through that effort we created Iron Doggy, a company that makes hands-free dog leashes that keep athletic dogs on the straight and narrow. Iron Doggy leashes were recommended by Fitness, Women’s Running, and Triathlete magazines. We sold thousands of leashes around the world, and had hundreds of five-star customer reviews. Almost ten years into it, we sold the business. Iron Doggy products are still in production and available online from its new owner.

Interaction Design LeadJeppesen, Commercial & Military Aviation 2007 - 2016In my time at Jeppesen I focused on touch-screen solutions for aeronautical charts used on the flight deck. The first project I worked on was a redesign of Jeppesen's Class 2 Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) System, and later I focused on charting solutions for the Jeppesen FliteDeck on the iPad. My primary focus was to lead design research across multiple markets, facilitate product designs based on this research, communicate the designs to internal stakeholders and work with the engineering teams to see that the designs were implemented. -
Interaction Design LeadGe Energy 2001 - 2007Managed the interaction design efforts for two major and two minor product releases of GE’s outage and distribution management software application. Led a collaborative team in the development of persona-based domain models, design concept definitions, interaction frameworks, and detailed user interface specifications. Successfully integrated a user-centered design process with software architecture and engineering processes. This integration greatly increased the predictability of the final product scope and delivery dates, and reduced rework during implementation and testing. -
User Interface ArchitectSmallworld Systems, Inc. 1997 - 2001Established the interaction framework for PowerOn, Smallworld's first vertical application targeted at the electrical utility market. Designed and implemented the user interface on three major releases and four minor releases of the product. Established a requirements triage process where product release scoping decisions could be managed across multiple releases of a product. Advocated a collaborative and user-centered approach to product design.
