Graduated magna cum laude from St. Olaf and the University of Minnesota in 1974, Sue Hill (then Wenzel) taught English in American and Australian high schools before being recruited in 1977 as part of a two-person team starting to directly represent Wadsworth Publishing in Australia.After completing a Masters degree in Librarianship at Monash University and working within what was then Triad Information Management in Melbourne, Sue Hill also promoted the development and acknowledgement of an emerging freelance information management sector within the Special Libraries (Victorian branch) of the Australian Library Association.Having enjoyed being the librarian of Melbourne University’s Jesse Webb history research library, Sue worked in a wide range of business and industry sectors before working 8 years in BHP Petroleum (first heading up information management & services before shifting into management training and development, including inhouse post-graduate education). Hill Associates was developed in June 1994 as a vehicle by which to assist companies and universities committed to continuing professional education and training firmly grounded in practice. Initially launched within Geelong’s TAFE and Deakin University (particularly addressing postgraduate education for engineers in Australia, New Zealand and India), Hill Associates specialised in instructional design and assessment services for professional associations (such as APESMA, CPA Australia, etc) before coming full-circle back to tertiary/postgraduate textbook publishers and their academic customers.Specialties: Book and journal indexing, especially tertiary textbooks.
