I am a highly experienced Non Executive Chair, Director, Urban Planning Consultant and Academic with over two decades of board level experience across the public, private and not for profit sectors. My experience and expertise covers organizations involved in urban planning, major development, housing, transport and infrastructure. At board level I have sat on over 15 boards and high level government committees where I influence the direction of urban policy in Australia. Some recent highlights include: Hume Community Housing Association, the Urban Policy Forum, National Housing Supply Council, Building Professionals Board, NSW (President), Planning Institute of Australia (President) and Built Environment Industry Innovation Council (Chair). In these roles I contribute to strategic thinking, strong governance cultures, government & community relationships, health, safety, risk and environment matters. My executive roles include the Director General of Planning NSW, the Director of City Strategy at DEGW Asia Pacific and Professor of Planning Practice at UNSW. In a professional capacity I am a City Planner and Economist. I have an MPhil (Town and Country Planning, a BA (Economics) and am a Graduate of the AICD’s Company Directors Course.
