I am an experienced non-profit leader and corporate business development professional with expertise in rare diseases and patient advocacy. My corporate biotech roles together with my patient advocacy leadership perspective offer me unique opportunities to apply my experiences and skills in strategy, finance, management in both for-profit and non-profit environments. After building my career in various finance and business development roles in diagnostics and genetic testing, I was inspired to join National Tay-Sachs & Allied Diseases Association (NTSAD). There I could advance research and connect with families affected by rare diseases, with a goal to be closer to the impact of my work with the patient community. In this role, I led NTSAD through a time of transformation, starting with little research funding and evolving to nine clinical trials in process. I turned around and strengthened finances, board, staff, and operational effectiveness. My experiences in this role have led to coaching and mentoring work for non-profit patient advocacy leaders. I am interested in expanding this work.Building effective collaborative relationships and partnerships are a hallmark of my corporate, non-profit, and volunteer roles. I believe that strong, cohesive communities are essential, whether we’re talking about a dedicated network of collaborators developing therapies, a patient community advocating and supporting each other, or a local institution creating a sense of community for its members.I served on the Board of LogicBio Therapeutics and served on the Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee. The company was acquired in November 2022. I would enjoy serving on another public or private company board, as well as advising rare disease companies. I am also seeking to expand my involvement in non-profit leadership through joining a non-profit board. I bring skills and experience in finance, governance, strategy, and operations through various work and volunteer roles. My past and current volunteer consulting work and other local volunteering has enriched my knowledge of and connections to many community education and social services organizations. I especially value my involvement in education, whether through tutoring or consulting.
