Past Board Treasurer; Past Board PresidentCpow Livestock Processors Cooperative Association Apr 2011 - Sep 2017Odessa, WaCattle Producers of Washington spun off the LPCA to build and operate a new multi-species livestock processing facility located in Odessa, Washington. The plant started operation in August 2013 and continued until passing into new ownership in 2020. The facility was developed as a public-private partnership between the LPCA and the Odessa Public Development Authority. The new plant offered USDA carcass inspection, processing and packaging for the retail meat market, providing small to mid-size ranchers an alternative to shipping their livestock to mass production slaughterhouses – an alternative that was not readily available. Consumers gained access to locally produced, traceable and healthy meat products. Lots of challenges and a great learning experience.
