Gaining Ground is a non-profit organic farm in Concord, Massachusetts that grows vegetables with the help of thousands of community volunteers and donates all of this fresh produce to meal programs and food pantries in MetroWest, Greater Lowell and Boston. I began volunteering in 2010 and joined the board in 2015. In 2018 I was elected to my first term as Board President. I'm currently serving my second term as Board President and am excited to participate in Gaining Ground's expansion efforts at Minuteman National Park in Concord.

As Vice President of Engineering I coached and developed three directors of engineering who each had multiple managers and scrum teams reporting to them. In total I led an organization of 110+ engineers and 13 scrum teams.I planned and executed a smooth product delivery reorganization by involving both management and individual contributors. We used an interactive process to identify product "seams". We used that information to guide a new structure which optimized for autonomy and delivery. My oversight was expanded to include the UX team. Worked with UX leadership to refine processes for coaching, calibration, promotion and compensation to bring it in line with the engineering organization.

Lead engineering for the Constant Contact business unit. This includes all customer-facing products such as Email, Contacts, Editor, Automation, Segmentation, Social, Integrations and iOS and Android apps. In total my organization is comprised of 100+ engineers.

Endurance acquired Constant Contact in February 2016. With more than 250 brands and multiple platforms, the Endurance environment is complex. Led the corporate initiative to tie these brands together by designing and delivering a data platform solution built using AWS technologies. Led a team utilizing the data platform to deliver a personalized experience for new customers resulting in reduced churn.In the Constant Contact business unit I led 3 additional teams responsible for nearly all customer-facing products including Email, Next Generation Editor, Events, Coupons, Donations and the Image Library. In total my organization is comprised of nearly 60 engineers.

Promoted to lead a larger group (3 Scrum teams comprised of 25 developers) responsible for all Plus Campaigns (Events, Donations, Coupons), the new Email Flow and Reporting. Led a successful initiative to enable Scrum teams to more effectively contribute to one another's repos thereby better meeting the needs of the business.

Hired by the General Manager of the Event Marketing business unit to improve the operation of the engineering team. Led team to improve the quality of the product, reducing production issues and unexpected work resulting in more predictable delivery of customer value.

Linio Group provides web design and development services for small businesses and non-profits. Launched company and performed all branding, marketing, sales, account management, development and deployment.

Led team responsible for development and maintenance of company’s major software products (Accounts Payable, Expense, Advisor, SupplierExpress), contributing $25M in yearly revenue. Scaled organization, recruiting and hiring 12 full-time developers and contractors in a competitive market. Promoted staff member to engineering manager and coached to ensure success.

Introduced tools and processes to improve engineering efficiency, predictability, and quality with other members of the management team. Developed and coached staff. Spearheaded usability improvements across product line. Grew organization’s UI expertise: hired UI developer and contracted with UI and graphic designers.

Exit41’s patented ordering solution for the restaurant industry is featured in The World is Flat. Built on a J2EE platform, it enables restaurants to increase sales with multiple ordering points and off-site order takers. Drove the design and development of multiple releases of a new Inventory product written in Java using web services. Wrote 25% of the code. Drove the design and development of Enterprise Menu Management which included off-shore QA. Introduced new development process, mentored team members, built schedules, and ensured team tracked to plan.

Developed video-streaming news site for The Monitor Group using Java and JSP. Re-architected POS register application written in Java.

Java developer on the backend and front end of Formation, an ETL tool. Originally at Engage which was acquired by Red Brick which was then acquired by Informix. Informix was ultimately acquired by IBM.
