Unlike many other professional résumé writers, I don’t specialize in one specific type of position or industry. I prefer to work with people in all phases of their careers and across many different job categories. My clients range from C-level executives to new college graduates. They include traditional disciplines like sales, healthcare, manufacturing, marketing and project management as well as the more exotic. I’ve written résumés for sports pros, a Las Vegas dancer, a fashion designer, a race car driver and even a nun.Also unlike a large percentage of résumé writers, my background is not in Human Resources or Recruiting. I spent a number of years in the Marketing Communications department of a Fortune 500 company. I wrote and designed advertisements, brochures and tradeshow presentations. I produced videos and authored speeches, biographies and magazine articles. I was intensely involved in promoting and selling products. This approach to writing and design is incorporated into every document I produce. My goal is to present clients to hiring managers and recruiters (buyers) in a way that gets clients (products) noticed and desired.To be the best resource for my clients, I regularly participate in educational programs to remain current on where résumé writing and the job market are going. What do readers want to see in résumés and how do they want that information presented? Are social media replacing the traditional résumé? Is networking the only thing that matters? What are the most effective ways to get your résumé into the right hands?My job is to tell my clients’ stories in a way that gets them noticed and positions them as serious contenders for the jobs they want.
