I love to help seniors and their families. I started out offering services for seniors such as planning and coordinating a move, personal shopping, organization, and companionship. Over time, I began to focus more and more on writing for and about seniors — especially dementia, memory loss and capturing life stories. After helping my own parents and clients navigate the aging process, I became an accidental expert! Now I enjoy sharing my research and experiences with others through writing.

In this fast-paced work environment, I interacted with prospective and current residents in a senior living setting -- planning events, writing a monthly newsletter, troubleshooting and making the complex run smoothly on a day-to-day basis.

I served as a contributing writer for a variety of Armchair Reader books, including ones about weddings, dogs, Wisconsin, haunted America and the Mammoth Book of Information. I also wrote stories for Heavenly Tails, an inspirational book about pets and the Really Really Big (RRB) Book of the Weird and Unusual. These contributions include suggesting story ideas and researching chapter topics.For Facts That Matter, I co-authored two non-fiction books and served as managing editor and contributing writer for many more. My responsibilities included researching, interviewing, writing, proofreading, photograph selection and index creation as well as managing and editing the works of other contributing writers.As the editor and contributing writer for Mature Lifestyles, a Dane County publication for seniors, I conducted research and interviews for articles. These provided timely information for mature adults about housing, insurance, senior programs, local activities, local senior features, estate planning, Medicare and more. I also assigned and edited the work of freelance writers for each issue.
