I have maintained an active private studio for over 30 years, coach strings and chamber music at Fort Collins High School, and am a former board member of the Rocky Mountain Viola Society (http://www.rockymountainviolasociety.org). As an advocate for the viola, I am one of the founders of Viva La Viola! Day and chaired this event from 2000-2012, guiding its’ growth from 48 to over 150 participants. Pursuing my passion to promote music as a life-long skill, I also served on the advisory council for Amateur Chamber Music Players (http://www.acmp.net) and the Education ad hoc committee for the American Viola Society (http://www.americanviolasociety.org). In 2008, Iestablished a summer music festival for students in the Northern Colorado ares colled Just Chamber Music, LLC (www.justchambermusic.com)As a private instructor, I have seen some of my students achieve success as area competition and scholarship winners. My students have won top prizes in the Loveland Chamber Orchestra and Youth Orchestra of the Rockies Concerto Competition and have been selected to perform in the master classes of violists Jesse Levine, Simon Rowland-Jones, Carol Rodland and the Cavani and Alexander String Quartets. My students have been awarded scholarships to pursue music in college, and she has also had the pleasure of seeing former students appointed to positions in area orchestras and as public school music educators. Currently, I continue to perform with String Quartet Con Brio and as a free-lance musician throughout Colorado.Specialties: I have also been a guest clinician, adjudicator, chamber music coach and rehearsal technician for pre-college students in the Northern Colorado area.
