I focused on continuous improvement to ensure organisational learning from reviews or inspections were built into business plans to shape the future of my areas of responsibility. I was Project Executive for several change programmes and Senior Client for Judicial Reviews and Civil Actions impacting on Safeguarding/Criminal Justice within the MPS. I renewed Community Boards (IAG and SNB) for the Borough to focus on diverse needs of community, representing BAME communities. I was Gold for critical and fatal incidents, chairing multi-agency Gold Groups setting TofR, aims and objectives. I merged the two policing environments restructuring portfolios to focus on high risk areas and safeguarding opportunities, ensuring staff well briefed to respond to hate crimes after terrorist incidents and support vulnerable communities by addressing high crime rates, ASB and poor criminal justice outputs. I reorganised and co-chaired Community Safety Partnerships and other statutory boards introducing Executive Boards and streamlining main Boards to focus on priorities encouraging more participation from private sector and voluntary agencies to address exploitation, extremism and protect vulnerable communities. My strong fiscal management and reviewing spend enabled me to remain within budget. This high profile, high responsibility role was particularly challenging following the London bombings of 2005 after which I directed family liaison support and linked with government, national and international bodies. My role oversaw the reputational and delivery issues in relation to deaths and critical incidents across London.I was the lead for the Metropolitan police, liaising with numerous interested parties including the Home Office and CPS, on protocols and guidelines on management of domestic violence across London. Including a project on the risk assessment process for domestic violence; this programme has now been implemented as standard procedure nationwide. As the representative… Show more My role oversaw the reputational and delivery issues in relation to deaths and critical incidents across London.I was the lead for the Metropolitan police, liaising with numerous interested parties including the Home Office and CPS, on protocols and guidelines on management of domestic violence across London. Including a project on the risk assessment process for domestic violence; this programme has now been implemented as standard procedure nationwide. As the representative of the Commissioner I gave keynote speeches in both Russia and in the US reflecting on best practise on domestic violence. This directly led to my being asked by the EU to lecture extensively on concerned issues around human rights. During this time I also established the national Women and Policing group for the Association of Chief Police Officers. Show less

I worked in a variety of settings including roles as both uniform and detective duties. Most memorably as the lead negotiator at the Hackney siege of 2002 and in a demanding role on the regional crime squad spent in the detection and management of the top echelon of drug criminals.
