Report to the Chief Content Officer on a 6-person Editorial Team to help build the most engaging and appealing content for the edition each day. Write content as directed, including a minimum of one news article each day.Approach stories through original research and traditional reporting/interviewing. Select, organize and produce media (images, infographics, and video to accompany the stories of the day. Adapt each article at a variety of reading levels for the young audience of the publication.Explain complex ideas (including politics, science, business and social /cultural issues) to readers with little to no background on the subject. Perform a variety of editorial tasks, including fact checking, reviewing, and proofreading. Record articles out loud for the daily “Read to Me” feature in the publication’s website.

Camellias Publishing is a Southern regional magazine based out of Birmingham, AL.Responsibilities include: assess, manage, copy-edit submissions. Develop articles and make sure they are well structured, accurate and consistent with Camellias style.

As the Editor in Chief of Kaleidoscope, my responsibilities include:-Creating and enforcing policies regarding all publications and their content, originality and relevance as the most important aspects.- Preparing and controlling budgets for the publication. - Overseeing the planning of both written and visual contents to be featured in print and online media outlets.

As the Managing Editor of the Kaleidoscope, my roles included:- Oversee the day-to-day operations of Kaleidoscope. This included budgeting, staff management and planning online content. - Coaching new staff members.- Budgeting for publication on a weekly basis.

As Campus Editor, my roles included:- Find relevant events happening specifically on UAB campus and assign duties to reporters and photographers.- Use software such as Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Premiere, and Photoshop to design and publish a weekly paper published every Tuesday and use different content for the website.
