I have over 20 years experience of working in Property Lettings, Management and Developments, and am the Director and co-owner of Sugarhouse Properties, one of the largest independent student and young professional letting agents in Leeds. We recently moved to our new flagship office in Headingley where we look after a wide and diverse portfolio of properties, housing around 2,000 tenants a year. Our mission has always been to make renting safe, easy, accessible and fun.Much of my experience has been with the HMO and student accommodation markets, and I have witnessed the dramatic changes and growth of these markets over the last couple of decades.I have managed and run and number of development sites and refurbishments, and have enjoyed creating design-led accommodation and restoring un-loved character buildings. At Sugarhouse, we work with contractors and builders that understand the market and how we work, and interior designers that help us create proper homes (and less magnolia). I have also gained experience in the short-let and holiday rental market and helped launch a number of successful boutique rentals in the serviced accommodation market.We offer extensive bills inclusive offerings on the majority of our properties which includes green energy and business-grade high speed broadband. I have a personal interest in the energy market and sustainable living.During my career I have enjoyed creating and supporting high growth businesses and I am process driven and creative. I am passionate about customer experience and service levels and have spent time working with and coaching students and young people to develop their skills and increase their employability.I have an interest in marketing and design and in finding new and exciting ways of engaging with customers and clients. Prior to working in property and residing in Leeds I lived, travelled and worked abroad for a number of years, undertaking a number of temporary roles in hospitality, retail, and sales and gaining experience of working with different groups of people and cultures.
