A lot of new and exciting experiences gained during my internship period. I never been exposed to working environment and being surrounded by engineers. They really helpful and always gives good advice related to the job assigned. I learned to use the software DHI MIKE Flood for project RTB Pahang (Rancangan Tebatan Banjir Pahang) where this project requires a simulation of model. The model was inputted with real condition data and it was simulated with worst case scenario of 100-ARI. Then, flood mitigation works are proposed for certain area which are prone to have huge flood. A model with mitigation works data also need to be simulated for this project. Next, I was exposed to use the Geospatial software called ArcGIS, by using the software, specific area can be analyze. For example, the rainfall intensity for the specific area can be obtained. Then, I help the engineer to calculate the specific items for the bill of quantities. each criteria need to calculated carefully. Lastly, using Microsoft Word, I learned about the format of the report, which some of it features can be automatically created.
