I am a practicing architect since 2019; with five years of academic (B.Arch.) and around three years of versatile professional experience that ranges from product and interior design to architecture and urban town development and from sustainable construction techniques (using mud, bamboo, scape) to complex composite structures. I have had more than one year of formal experience (Junior Architect at Shilanyas Design consultants, from March 2019 to April 2020) under an architectural & urban design firm in Ahmedabad, collaborative (with CHIRP & AMC- February 2019) experience in urban conservation, along with freelance (started professional practice “Design Khidkee”- in May 2020) and entrepreneurial exposure.The diverse experience has helped me develop design methodology (“Derive-Design-Detail”) for my intuitive design approach; I derive inferences from (contextual and programmatic) analysis, further translate them into design language and detail it out with appropriate (relevant to context and community) material pallet and construction techniques. It has also helped me develop a range of skill sets; as I am well equipped in software like AutoCAD, Sketch-up, Photoshop, and Lumion; along with manual skills like sketching, model making, photography, and material handling, and, critical and content writing.While the academic learnings motivated me to pursue the field, these professional exposures instilled confidence, lent clarity of goals, and prepared me to receive formal education in Urban Design. I am excited to commence the Master of Urbanism (Urban design) at the University of Sydney in August 2022.
