I am a soil scientist by training but over the years have transformed my self from lab to landscape scale. I am currently working in integrated watershed management at INternational Crops Research Institute for the Semi Arid Tropics and integrating discipolnes and institutions to work in a consortium to solve the on ground problems of small farm holders. Currently now working as Director, ICRISAT Development Center to scale up and scale out the technologies and products of research to benefit farmers as well as to achieve the impact of science.I have also worked as Visiting Professor, Department of soil Science, University of Alberta during 1989-1991 during my sabbatical leave from ICRISAT.I have worked on associative biological nitrogen fixation, vesicular arbusular mycorrhizae, legumes nitrogen fixation, carbon and nitrogen transformations in soil, plant toxins produced by obligate parasites, agricultural water management, watershed management, soil and plant nutrition, nutrient cycling, sustainable intensification, ecosystem services, on-site and off-site impacts of AWM and improved catchment management practices. I have a flair to work with the communities through participatory research for development. I work in teams and enjoy team work. Along with research I also like management of research and mobilising resources for undertaking development research. I have superannuated from ICRISAT on 30 June, 2018. Worked with International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) as international Consultant. Working as International Consultant with the Asian Development Bank, Manila.
