As the co-founder and executive director of the nonprofit startup The Premed Scene, I am responsible for providing content and resources for pre-health students via our global e-learning platform. I institute and moderate the nonprofit’s platform operations between the executive committee, interns, a physician, and a former healthcare consultant to perform vital roles for the operations of the startup. This platform engages thousands of students globally in a supportive environment in which students guide each other throughout their journey while engaging in discussions over present-day topics. In addition, we host healthcare providers, medical school representatives and faculty, and leaders from various aspects of healthcare. As a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, I serve on the College Health committee and coordinate with hospitals and universities on national projects relating to the Congenital Heart Public Health Consortium, gaining insight into the management of patients with chronic conditions such as adult congenital heart disease. As the project manager for OliviaHealth, a startup out of the Nurse-Family Partnership at the Texas A&M Health Science Center, I developed expansion strategies and business growth plans toward funding for the maternal health startup, increasing grant funding by $100K+ and worked with providers and engineers to devise approaches for website development and an AI-powered search engine. In this role, I also fostered client relations between OliviaHealth, Philips, and Mays Business School to produce a maternal health application, and initiated a health tech client project, where students conducted marketing research and strategized product development and marketing efforts, using qualitative analysis to present 10+ new features.

As the homeownership program lead and budget coach for The REACH Project, I served a multifaceted role for the nonprofit. As a program lead, I assisted the restructuring of the homeownership program by implementing audit evaluation feedback given by Mays Business School, setting up the registration/onboarding process, and identifying feedback loops for enrolling Texas A&M service workers into our programs. I also taught financial education classes to over 50 Aggie service workers and community members on saving for a down payment and monthly expenses. As a budget coach, I led families through their personal finances and teach about banking and finances in coaching sessions and classes towards helping them to their goal of homeownership. I also served as a consultant for the REACH 4 Home Villages project, analyzing the financial logistics of the $20 million+ real estate development in coordination with the Texas A&M School of Architecture. Additionally, I brought together engineers and engineering and business students to develop a capstone class and supervised the development of a mobile application comprising all operations of The REACH Project.

As a student research assistant and undergraduate researcher in the College of Medicine at the Texas A&M Health Science Center, I performed research in the Department of Medical Physiology on the mechanism of cardiovascular and ocular vascular diseases. As part of a NASA-funded grant project, I researched the temporal impact of simulated microgravity and the mechanism of spaceflight-associated neuro-ocular syndrome and optic disc edema on ocular vascular hemodynamics using quantitative analysis in OCT imaging. In this role, I also worked on securing animal tissues for functional and molecular analysis of cardiovascular and ocular vasculature to enhance our understanding of how vessels respond to diabetic conditions under the guidance of Regents Professor/Associate Department Head and the Cardiovascular Block Director.

As a project assistant in the Health Science Center at The Texas A&M University System, I performed tasks in the "Using Telehealth to Improve Access to Care for Humans and Animals in Underserved Areas" project in the Innovation[X] Program as part of the Public Health team under the supervising PI. With this project, we used concepts of Global One Health to address the health and well-being of humans and animals in rural and under-served communities through increased access to care. In this, I pulled out metrics from a veterinary clinic hosted by the project team; in which I summarized the impact of the project, such as details including humans and animals treated, their conditions, immunizations provided, and the client reports on the impact of their pets on mental health. Additionally, I worked on writing and securing grants and funding for the project.

As one of seven students appointed to serve as a liaison between the 70,000+ student body and the staff and administration of A.P. Beutel Health Center, I assessed options available for programs, services, and policies, and provided recommendations based on time and resource considerations. In this position, I also evaluated the feasibility of the current cost of student health services fees using breakeven analysis and historical data on average out-of-pocket expenses per student. Here, I represented students to ensure quality health care for students and work on fulfilling health needs that contribute to the well-being of the campus.

As a third-degree black belt and apprentice instructor who has trained in taekwondo for over twelve years, I helped teach multiple classes in the academy for students of all ages and ranks. In addition to teaching in the academy, I supervised and judged numerous state-wide tournaments. As a competitor, I have also received first, second, and third-place finishes in tournaments.

As a medical records scanner, I scanned thousands of paper medical records onto electronic health record systems such as Doximity, in addition to cataloging and shelving numerous medical records alphabetically in order to increase the efficiency of retrieving records.
