Her second startup Amika Mobile was focussed on critical & emergency communications. She transitioned that AI exit to Genasys as VP. Her first start-up, AmikaNow! spun from government R&D labs, focussed on AI and automatic content analysis. Its Compliance Business was acquired by Entrust & she transitioned it as VP Content Technology.Her 38+ years in technology have resulted in an exemplary record as an Industry leader, employer, and pioneer. Sue holds over 45 International patents in AI, security, content analysis, emergency & mobile messaging. As many as 35 Global Companies have cited her pioneering patents including Google, Apple, Ford, etc. She has over 100 publications and respective speeches on AI and tech. Sue has a B.Eng. from McGill University & honors AI M. Eng. & honors AI Doctorate from Carleton University. She has been active on Boards of Directors for 38+ years. She served for 8 yrs as Director & Vice Chair for Ontario Centers of Excellence (OCE), for 6 yrs on the Private Sector Advisory Board for National Centers of Excellence (NCE). She served on Dalhousie's Big Data Institute & McGill's Innovation Board. She also served on the ENCQOR 5G board. She was named by Security Products &Tech in their 2022 Hall of Fame issue for helping transform the security industry through innovation, dedication and community participation.
